CINEMALAYA 2009 ENTRIES IN!
A total of sixty-two entries to the short feature category of the 2009 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival and Competition beat the extended deadline of 5 PM, February 27, 2009. All entries were submitted to the Media Arts Division of the Cultural Center of the Philippines and are now with the Competition Committee headed by Director Laurice Guillen.
The ten finalists of the short feature category will be announced on May 9, 2009. These ten will be shown at the 2009 Cinemalaya on July 17-26 at the CCP. The winner of the Best Short Film award will receive a P100,000 cash grant and the Cinemalaya Balanghai trophy.
Now on its fifth year, the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival and Competition is a project of the Cinemalaya Foundation, CCP, Econolink Investments Inc. and the Film Development Council of the Philippines . An all-digital film festival and competition, Cinemalaya seeks to discover, encourage and honor the cinematic works of Filipino filmmakers that boldy articulate and freely interpret the Filipino experience with fresh insight and artistic integrity.
Cinemalaya is held in two categories, full length and short feature. |
