Perci Intalan’s Distance will be competing at the 11th Bengaluru International Film Festival in India and at the 2019 Roze Filmdagen Film Festival in Amsterdam.

The family drama is set to compete under the Asian Cinema Competition section of the Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFES), which was founded in 1996 and has since been held annually in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, India. BIFFES 2019 is slated to happen on February 21 to 28.

The film will also be competing at the 2019 Roze Filmdagen Film Festival on March 14 to 24 in Amsterdam. Since its establishment in 1996, the festival has impacted Amsterdam’s gay and lesbian culture landscape and earned an excellent reputation among visiting filmmakers as well as foreign festivals.

Distance is a family drama that tells the story of Liza, who while in mourning for losing the love of her life, receives a visit from the most unlikely person—her husband, Anton. With no questions asked and no conditions made, Anton invites Liza back to his and their two children’s lives.

The film won Cinemalaya 2018’s Best Supporting Actress award for Therese Malvar.
