Fish Out Of Water tells the story of Min-jae, a Korean-Filipino teenager, who is often discriminated against for being mixed-blood.  His utmost desire to belong to the homogeneous and hierarchical Korean society is tested when his single Filipina mother decides to send him to the Philippines one winter day.

About the Director
RAMON A.L. GARILAO is currently a graduating student of the University of the Philippines Film Institute. In 2013, he was granted a yearlong scholarship to study Visual Design in the University of Seoul in South Korea as an International Exchange Student. At the age of 19, he became the youngest fellow of the Asian Film Academy of the 18th Busan International Film Festival. Recently, his short film “Nandito Lang si Mama” (2015) was invited in various festivals and won various awards. Equipped with his passion and love of Asian Cinema, Mon continues to explore the vast seas of filmmaking.
He believes that this whole journey is just starting and that there is still a long way ahead of him.
