Alexander Xian Cruz Lim Uy is a Fil-Am-Chinese actor best known for his starring roles for films in Star Cinema, Viva Films and various television series in ABS-CBN. In 2017, Lim made his directorial debut from producing his own music video for Star Records, “Getting to Know Each Other” to a year later, “A Love Story” starring Mara and Isabel Lopez, a short film about a dysfunctional mother-daughter relationship that premiered in the Pelicula-Pelikula Spanish Film Festival. “Tabon” is his first full-length feature film as a director in Cinemalaya.
“The world we see is only a reflection of the forms the world represents.”
-Plato, The Allegory of the Cave
“Tabon” is a whodunit story of a man and his journey back to his hometown to solve the mystery of his father’s death.
The concept was born in 2016 with my fascination for caves and the hidden secrets it may contain. Two years later after the birth of the concept, the world was further expanded in Ricky Lee’s batch 17 workshop.
The film raises questions about one’s belief and the lengths we are willing to endure to uncover the absence of meaning in our life.
