AGAW-TINGIN (Stolen Glances)
“Stolen glances” and fleeting moments of people, places, and occurrences compose this anthology of nonfiction works intended to bring readers back to things that are often overlooked or disregarded. These glances contain the seeds for writing, and through the reader’s renewed gaze the work begets meaning.
A journalist since the 1970s, the author embodies a life of observation and adherence to lived realities – from within cinema halls and churches to the open streets and protest rallies; to children running, horseplaying, or chasing dreams amidst poverty. In every piece of writing, an utterance is rekindled, an emotion is conveyed, and a truth is allowed to resonate.
Featured in this anthology are selected nonfiction essays written by the author for various publications such as the Asia-Philippines Leader, TV Weekly, Metro Magazine, Mr. & Ms., Expressweek, Veritas, and National Midweek.
