This anthology brings together the voices of  CCP Gawad Alternatibo-winning filmmakers whose works span over thirty years of independent cinema in the Philippines. Through deeply personal and reflective essays, they explore the evolving practice of alternative filmmaking—an artistic movement shaped through collaboration with pioneering artists and institutions, including the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Gawad Alternatibo.

Years after receiving the award or participating in the program, these filmmakers offer nuanced insights into their creative journeys. Many have ventured beyond the realm of filmmaking, forging paths as educators, researchers, archivists, social workers, journalists, and cultural workers.
