Deeply honored to share that WARLA is heading this June to Mumbai for the 17th Kashish Pride Film Festival, South Asia’s largest queer film festival!
Being nominated in the Narrative Feature Competition alongside four powerful and distinct films is a milestone we carry with pride.
As we prepare for this moment, we stand in firm solidarity with trans and gender-diverse communities in India. We echo the urgent call to axe the bill and join the resistance against the Transgender Persons Amendment Act 2026. By removing the right to self-identification and mandating medical boards for legal recognition, this law strikes at the heart of dignity and autonomy.
WARLA arrives at KASHISH not just as a film, but as an act of resistance. We stand with the activists in Mumbai who work toward a future where trans lives are defined by their own voices, not by state-mandated scrutiny. Hum aapke saath hain (हम आपके साथ हैं)
Thank you to the KASHISH jury for having us, and to our incredible cast and crew who made this journey possible. Congratulations, team @warlafilm!!!!
