QUIAPO ILALIM: Pagsusulat ng Iba’t Ibang Daan

(Trip to Quiapo 2)

Quiapo Ilalim

by Ricardo “Ricky” Lee

National Artist of the Philippines for Film and Broadcast Arts

The book is for those who dare dream to write, for those who are already practicing the craft, for those who have begun to write, for those who have stopped writing, and for those who refuse to stop. This is for the oddballs who see a story in the littlest of sleep crust in the corner of an eye or the tiniest drop of rain.

Quiapo Ilalim, Pagsusulat ng Iba’t Ibang Daan (Trip to Quiapo 2) is the second installment to the best-selling book Trip to Quiapo – a required text in communication courses in the Philippines and budding writers.

Ricky Lee likewise authored six books: Para Kay B, Si Amapola sa 65 na Kabanata, Bahay ni Marta, Lahat ng B, Kalahating Bahaghari, and Pinilakang Tabing.

Lee, the most-awarded scriptwriter in the Philippines, has over 190 produced films and over 80 trophies, including lifetime achievement awards to his name. His iconic works include Himala (CNN’s Best Asia-Pacific Film of All Time, 2011), Anak, Jose Rizal, Muro-Ami, Karnal, The Flor Contemplacion Story, Madrasta, Nasaan Ka Man, and Moral.

A mentor to generations of writers, Ricky has been conducting free scriptwriting workshops since 1982, producing hundreds of graduates like Lav Diaz, Quark Henares, Dodo Dayao, Jeffrey Jeturian, Pepe Diokno, and Dwein Baltazar.

Lee was proclaimed as a National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts in 2022.
